DDYFA U16 League Cup Quarter Final
BSYFC 3–2 Mearns Youth
A strong performance and deserved win to reach the semi-finals.
We started on top, with our centre midfield trio dominating proceedings, backed up by a solid defensive unit. Chances came from all areas, with Thomas unlucky not to open the scoring after crashing one of the bar from distance and Robert causing problems throughout.
Despite our control, Mearns took the lead from the penalty spot. The response was excellent – Freddie levelled from a tight angle before Calum put us ahead with a composed finish.
Just before half time Mearns equalised from a quick throw and a ball whipped into the centre where they were allowed time and space.
HT 2–2
Second half we stayed disciplined and dealt well with their direct play. The back line were outstanding, with John, Finlay H and Finlay B all stepping up.
The winner came from great work wide by Calum who was causing all sorts of problems. He delivered the ball for Freddie to square across goal for Ru to finish.
We saw the game out well, creating further chances and showing maturity to secure the win.
Player of the Match: Finlay Bell – excellent at the back, calm and composed throughout Mentions: Freddie, Callum, full defensive back line.

BSYFC 2013 v Crieff 2013
First game back at Home Street in warm conditions.
A competitive opening, but Crieff’s passing made it difficult for us to get control. The team worked hard but found chances limited on the day.
Great to see a full squad turnout, including Brooklyn supporting from the sidelines.
Thanks to Crieff for travelling early and referee Craig Simpson for making the trip.
