11-A-Side Pathway Round-Up | Sun 22nd Mar

A busy weekend across the 11-a-side pathway, with plenty of positives despite some tough results.

DDYFA U17 League Cup Semi-Final

Dundee West Reds 7–2 BSYFC

A challenging away tie as the U17s looked to reach a cup final.

The first half was disciplined and competitive, with the boys defending well under pressure and dealing with a number of corners to go in level at the break.

HT 0–0

The second half proved more difficult as Dundee West struck twice early. Caleb pulled one back with a composed finish, but the hosts responded quickly and extended their lead. Caleb added a second, but Dundee West ran out worthy winners.

A competitive performance for long spells, but any lapses were punished at this level.

⚽ Goals: Caleb x2

PoTM: Ewan – grew into the game and defended well throughout.

DDYFA U16 League

Maryfield Utd 4–4 BSYFC

A real game of two halves.

With only 11 available, the boys adapted well to a difficult pitch and played smart, direct football. Robert opened the scoring, Callum added a header, and Robert made it three from the spot before Callum grabbed a fourth just before the break.

HT 0–4

The second half saw momentum shift. A red card reduced us to 10 men and Maryfield capitalised, scoring four and levelled late on.

Disappointing after such a strong first half, but valuable lessons to take forward.

PoTM: Robert – two goals, won the penalty and a constant threat.

Standouts: Joel, Cameron, Callum.

DDYFA U14 League Cup

Broughty United 2012 4–2 BSYFC 2012

A close and competitive game that could have gone either way. The team showed great effort and commitment throughout scoring two excellent goals.

⚽ Goals: Logan, Robbie

PoTM: Roddy – another strong all-round performance

PKYFA U13 League

BSYFC 2013 v Letham Tangies 2013

A disciplined first half saw the team

stay compact and limit space against a strong Letham side, going in just one goal down.

In the second half, Letham found more gaps, but the team continued to battle well and improved their attacking play. Gabriel finished off a strong run for a deserved goal.

Plenty of positives in terms of effort, organisation and communication with distribution from the back an area to improve upon.

Goal: Gabriel

PoTM: James – strong defensively  and relentless throughout

Mention: Ivan – excellent in goal with some key saves.

Great effort across all age groups this weekend – plenty to build on.
