⚽ Small Sided Season kicks off | Sun 1st Mar⚽

09/03/2026

A busy morning of football as our small-sided teams kicked off the 2026 season last weekend, with plenty of effort, development and great moments across the age groups.

Fair City Blacks 2014 v BSYFC 2014 (U12 – 9v9)

The 9s travelled to Perth for a friendly ahead of their new league campaign. Despite a heavy pitch, the team stuck to their passing game and produced a competitive performance against a physical Fair City side.

Maria scored a stunning strike from the edge of the box into the top corner, while the team pushed hard for an equaliser late on — even hitting the post in the closing minutes.

Player of the Game: Alfie Jamieson – excellent reading of the game, passing and interceptions.

BSYFC 2014 v Scone Thistle 2014 (U12 – 7v7)

The first league game of the season proved tough, but the players showed great attitude and battled from start to finish.

Goal: Ruaraidh

Player of the Week: Robert for his high-quality all-round display.

BSYFC Blues 2015 v Jeanfield 2015 (U11)

A strong start to the 2015s league campaign. The team began well with great shape and communication before finishing the match strongly with good passing and finishing.

Player of the Week: Cormac – tremendous determination and resilience, even after taking a heavy knock.

Auchterarder 2016 v BSYFC 2016 (U10)

The 2016s returned after the winter break with a spirited performance away to a strong Auchterarder side. After a slow start the boys settled into the game, worked hard for each other and battled back with two well-earned goals.

It was great to see the team enjoying being back on the pitch.

Player of the Week: Mylo – outstanding work rate and attacking drive.

BSYFC 2017 v Jeanfield 2017 (U9)

A great start to the 7-a-side format. Coaches Annette and Keith were impressed with everyone’s attitude. With a large squad there were plenty of substitutions, but that’s a good problem to have!

Player of the Week: Calum – made some great runs forward and scored a cracking finish.

Great effort from all the players this weekend — the progress across the teams continues to show.
