Not the results teams wanted but plenty of positives and commitment across our 11-a-side squads where a minutes silence was observed Remembrance Day.
U17 – SYFA Scottish Cup 3rd Round
Breadalbane 2 – 6 Westdyke CC
The Scottish Cup run came to an end against a strong Westdyke CC side from Aberdeen, but the boys can hold their heads high after a competitive performance against previous finalists.
The visitors took control midway through the first half, leading 0-2 at the break despite chances for Caleb and Struan. A sloppy start to the second period saw three quick goals conceded, yet the lads never gave up.
Ben pulled one back with a stunning 30-yard free-kick ⚽️ before Jayden headed home Caleb’s cross ⚽️. As momentum built, Breadalbane came agonisingly close to a third to make for an entertaining close to the match but it would be Westdykes who added a late sixth on the break.
MOTM: Ben – back to his best with superb energy and a screamer to match!
Mentions: James & Jayden.
Goals: Ben ⚽️ | Jayden ⚽️
Best of luck to Westdykes for the rest of theit season. Big thanks to Kerry & The Black Watch Inn for post-match hospitality.
U16 – DDYFA League
Forfar Athletic 8 – 1 Breadalbane
Despite taking an early lead, the U16s fell to defeat after conceding from several set-pieces. A tough afternoon but lots to work on at training this week.
Focus now turns to tightening defensive organisation and keeping intensity high for the full 90 minutes.
U13 – PKYFA League
Breadalbane 3 – 11 Scone Thistle
A wet, delayed start on the campus grass pitch. The team aimed to improve communication, lining up 5-4-1 after lessons from the earlier cup tie.
Scone’s sharpness showed early, but the boys battled hard and improved after the break, winning more challenges and creating good chances.
Goals: Gabriel, Brooklyn, Marco ⚽️⚽️⚽️
PoTM: Nathan – tireless energy, speed, and eagerness for the ball. Plenty learned and a strong finish to the match.
