U17–DDYFA J Cord League Cup Rd1

Ferry Athletic 1–4 Breadalbane

The U17s continued their fine form with a superb 4–1 away win against league leaders Ferry Athletic, progressing to the next round of the John Cord League Cup.

After an even start, Thomas made an instant impact, heading home Brodie’s perfect cross to open the scoring. Ferry quickly equalised, but just before half-time Theo restored Breadalbane’s lead with a brilliant solo effort.

In the second half, Caleb raced through to make it 3–1 after a superb through ball from Theo. Moments later, goalkeeper James pulled off a stunning penalty save before Finlay sealed the victory, reacting quickest to tuck home a rebound from a free kick.

A fantastic all-round performance against a previously unbeaten side built on teamwork, discipline, and determination.

Goals: Thomas ⚽ | Theo ⚽ | Caleb ⚽ | Finlay ⚽

MOTM: James – brilliant saves and a huge penalty stop!

Special Mentions: Struan & Ivan for a rock-solid defensive display, plus Theo, Caleb & Jayden for tireless work throughout.

Welcome back to Cameron rejoining the squad for the remainder of the season, and best wishes to Kienan as he moves on.

U16 – DDYFA League

Breadalbane 0–4 Maryfield United Blacks

A closer contest than the scoreline suggests, as the U16s gave an honest and hard-working performance against a strong Maryfield side.

Breadalbane were punished for a few early errors in the first half, but a change in formation to a front two brought plenty of second-half pressure — the boys just couldn’t quite find the net despite their efforts.

PoTM: Robert – superb battling display in midfield, linking play brilliantly and showing incredible ball control.

Also worthy of mentions were Ru M for an assured midfield performance and Connor for a rock-solid debut in goal.

A positive showing from the team — now the challenge is to keep that same effort and build on it with sharper decision-making and execution.
