Strong performances from Girls U12 & U14 Squads as they returned after the October break on Sat 25th Oct ⚽
It was a great weekend of football for Breadalbane & Strathtay’s girls’ teams, with both the U12s and U14s back in action following the October break. Despite challenging conditions and reduced squads, both groups showed fantastic teamwork, effort, and club spirit — a real credit to everyone involved.
SWF East Region U12 – BSYFC vs Bayside Bandits
The U12s enjoyed a beautiful sunny morning at Home St for their first match back.
With a reduced squad of eight due to illness and other commitments, the opposition kindly loaned players to even things up. Despite this, the Breadalbane girls burst into action, showing great teamwork, communication, and determination.
Vanessa opened the scoring ⚽ after early pressure, before Bayside hit back with some strong play. In the second half, the girlscontinued to battle hard, with Layla and Hannah linking up well in attack, and Zosia and Vanessa combining on the wings. Cayla added a well-deserved second goal ⚽, while the fearless Klara impressed in defence during a tense final spell.
A great game played in fantastic spirit — well done to both teams!
Player of the Match was Vanessa for her leadership and tireless effort.
SWF East Region U14 Friendly – Dundee East vs BSYFC
Cold and windy conditions in Dundee made for a challenging afternoon, but the U14 girls showed excellent attitude and commitment throughout their friendly against Dundee East.
Originally arranged as an 11-a-side match, the team was reduced to ten players on the day, but the girls dug deep and worked tirelessly for the full game. Huge credit to Dundee East, who matched numbers in the second half to keep things fair.
Special mention to Emeri, who was outstanding in defence and earned Player of the Week for her strong tackling and composure under pressure.
Well done to all the girls for their resilience and team spirit in tough conditions!
